Cloud Management Services

Cloud technology offers Government exciting new opportunities to access IT services but there are issues around how users access the services and how organisations are billed. The DDS Cloud Management Services aim to address these issues and provide a better user experience and more management control for orgnisations accessing the Cloud.

There are currently two G-Cloud Cloud Management Services available:

Identity Federation Service (IFS) – DDS IFS acts as a brokering system to allow a user’s identity to be shared by their network  to provide seemless authentication to external Cloud Services, removing the need for manual login details.

Cloud User Portal (CUP) – DDS CUP provides staff with a central access point to Cloud based services removing the need to remember numerous URLs. It also provides organisations with a way of managing, procuring and billing for cloud services on a pay-as-you-go basis.
